Given that the income for a franchise restaurant manager is directly tied to profits, ?
while the income for the manager of a company-owned restaurant is paid a flat fee, we might expect profits to be
A. Lower in franchise restaurants
B. Higher in franchise restaurants
C. Equal in both types of restaurants
D. PROFIT comparisons can not be made based on the given information
I don’t think you can give a definitive answer either way without more information. Research has shown however that in the UK at least the public prefer to buy from franchised businesses.
Has anyone operated a food franchise with partners? Any issues I need to be aware of?
I like to open up a subway franchise and thinking about finding around 10 partners initally to reduce per person investment. The idea is as we grow and make money we can buy/open up more…etc… Has anyone done a similar thing?
Too many people for one, and too many ways of cheating each-other in the food business

For a franchise restaurant, do i have to be available all the time?
If I open a franchise restaurant, besides providing capital do i personally have to be around all the time.
Lets take KCF for an example. If i open a kcf, do i have to stay in the restaurant all the time?
Any other usefull info about franchise business will help too.
Thanks
For a fast food place, it would sink or swim based upon the time that you put it to it. One thing to consider when opening a franchise is the requirements that would be part of the agreement. A page I found which deals with the various conditions you might encounter when dealing with what they call "franchise compliance" is http://www.francompliance.com. It seems to have some useful information about franchise compliance and things you might run into when opening a franchise.
What is the net profit margin for a fast food franchise? Or more specifically a pizza franchise?
I have heard up to 30% but that seems extremely high to me. I have talked with store managers that swear 25% to 30% net profit margins in their pizza franchises.
A well-known pizza franchise is actually a very good thing. You see, you’re pretty much buying a business that already has clients. The downside of franchises is exactly that – they are franchises. You have to pay for them. But if you’re willing to take the punch, and if you can, your return will come NO MATTER WHAT. McDonalds actually guarantees a return of your investment within the first five years.
Whoever you want to partner with, learn about their business system. Make sure you understand it. Don’t believe the hype. Scout the area where the franchise would be located. Read the business model. If it makes sense, and if you can find a way to quantify it, or if you just believe it may actually be true, grab the bull by the horns.
That’s the entrepreneurial spirit, anyway.
How can I find out who OWNS a local fast food franchise?
I would like to complain to the owner of one of the local Taco Bell locations, as my complaint is about the management. It seems easy to contact a manager, or corporate, but the actual owner is difficult to figure out.
I’m looking for a specific person or organization to contact to find this information.
You have to find out if that particular branch is corporate owned or franchised. Some taco bells are owned and some are franchised. All are different. I think In-n-Outs are all corporate owned, etc.
To find the owner of the business, you can call up your local government and ask for the ownership information of a business. You have to have the exact location at the minimum.
Call your city or country government and ask for the business registration department. Most businesses have to register with the city, county or state. They have to register who the owner of the business is. I don’t know what sort of place you live so you have to do some looking but just call and find out.
Is it worthwhile to take up a subway restaurant franchise in India?
Any franchisees with some info would be a great help! How many customers do you have per day? How much is the avg. check per customer. I’ve recently bought a shop in a food court in a mall and i was exploring my options. I’d have to go in for a loan for the franchise! There are only 72 subway restaurants in India and my shop is in the National capital region.
Why don’t you contact one of those 72 owners in person? Most owners I’ve met are very friendly and willing to help a guy out. I highly doubt they’re reading Y! answers.
