mc.donalds

I want to open up either a subway restaurant or a coffee franchise. Is this a good idea?

I’ve been wanting to open up a small business but not sure which.
If I do decide on which one I’m planning on working at a similar place for 3 to 6 months since I don’t have any restaurant/ coffe shop experience.

I heard Subway can go out of business easily and it’s a very hard work physically.

Is this true?

I have a friend here in Dubai that owns about 10 subways on franchise basis. He says he has to open quite a few in order to make reasonable profit because the profit per restaurant is small. You also need to use subway’s furniture and decor materials, their fridges, cookers, displays, posters, etc. and this all comes at a higher price than the market but the agreement is you HAVE to buy from them only, so you have a higher setup cost than would otherwise be possible.

On the other hand, a coffee shop would be a much better idea since the costs are minimal and the profits much better.even franchises still make more sense than food joints because u can still sell snacks n cakes n brownies at a coffeeshop n make a killer on very low cost. This has actually been my plan once I move down to Toronto in 2 years from now.

Good luck with your investment!

What kind of characteristics would you use to describe franchise-type-restaurant servers and bartenders?

I’m not looking for the ideal, rather i’m wondering about the actual qualities servers and bartenders possess in those kind of places.
Thanks everyone

What are the critical success factors in determining a location for a franchise quick service restaurant?

Specifically, it’s a fast food restaurant serving barbecue catering to class A, B and upper C income brackets. I’m wondering what factors I need to consider in choosing a location.

I have included a few websites below. Here are a couple key factors besides having enough money to start with, a strong business plan, etc. I would add location, parking, accessibility, people, and a great product properly priced for your market. I wish you the best. Good luck

Which locally owned non franchise restaurant in dallas is best?

I am looking for a local restaurant with local flavor that is not tex-mex and low to mid range prices with a varied menu in dallas… any suggestions?

When I lived in Dallas there was a place called Chips that my family & I LOVED. They had really good hamburgers. Dont know if its still around though. We also used to go to a Diner called Normas. Really awesome homemade food.

What, if any, are the requirements to franchise a restaurant?

Have one restaurant currently.

It depends on what restaurant you want to franchise. But typically, franchisors are looking for the following potential candidates:

- Availability and potential to receive capital – some franchisors provide loans to their franchisees

- Experience in running a restaurant – all wants prior experience, while some wants experience in running multiple restaurants. They want to make sure that the franchisee can make money for them, and one way is to ensure that the person knows the business

- Overall fit with their company – an increasing number of franchisors are looking at whether the applicant shares the same business philosophy as them

Entrepreneur.com has a list of various restaurants available for franchising that you may want to check out. Their feature includes cost and other requirements http://www.entrepreneur.com/franchises/ffrs/indexffrs.html

Singapore Lifestyle Franchise on the Internet

Started in 2004, Eatout Restaurant Dining Guide is an online directory marketing restaurants on the Internet that started in New Zealand. There is currently one franchise operating in Sydney, and another one in Perth, Australia. It is now the biggest restaurant dining guide with over 65,000 visitors each month in New Zealand.

The New Zealand web site was built to fill the niche Eatout had discovered –3 and a half years were spent building the business into New Zealand’s most successful online restaurant dining guide. With the fully systemised business model, Eatout is ready to be franchised around the world. Eatout is now offering franchise opportunities globally and Astreem Corporation is the business consulting firm who is representing the company as one of Singapore franchise opportunities available for business franchise through business investments.

Restaurants choose Eatout because the company fully manage the on-line marketing for them saving them the hassle of not only building their own website but ensuring their restaurant is seen by 1000’s of diners each month.   Eatout service includes all changes without any extra costs, to help make it as easy as possible for restaurants to keep their menus up to date.

“Eatout offers recurring income every month for its franchisee,” stated Wija Prasetyo, one of the franchise consultants of Astreem. “It is a perfect franchise for someone who enjoys meeting people and does not like an office bound career. It is easy to manage, low in investment and allows the franchisee to be his or her own boss from home.” Eatout’s goal is to be the world’s most successful online restaurant dining guide.
