Can a food franchise restaurant serve products other than those provided by the franchise?
For example could a dippin dots serve soft serve of hard ice cream other than the dots
Is there any way around that

The short answers to your questions are No and No.
The longer answer is – No and It Depends.
Basically it boils down to this.
People buy franchise business because they want to tap into a proven system that they can duplicate. If each franchisee was able to do whatever they wanted, the franchise itself would have less value.
In other words, if you want to start a Dippin Dots franchise, get ready to dip some dots!
Have fun, and good luck!
It depends on the franchise agreement. Some may have more latitude than others.

Generally no. Some franchises get some leeway depending on region, but generally there are restrictions so that the brand isn’t hurt.
